Day 1 of Nando's Journal

Nando. That's my name. Remember it well for here my exploits begin. I will not give my last name for I feel that I should earn a new one through my courageous deeds.

I arrived at Sandpoint in time for the Swallowtail Festival. On my way to the church plaza, to hear the benediction for the new church, my eyes caught the shiny reflections of precious stones on the window display of the local jewelry store. "How nice it would be for those precious stones to be liberated." I quietly said to myself.

A few minutes into the benediction the town folk began to run in all directions. Screaming for help for what had appeared all around them. Many goblins had stormed the plaza and started wrecking the place. As they were destroying and attacking the town folk they began chanting their evil war song which I found it to be both funny and annoying. "By the gawds! What an opportunity to raid the jewelry store! I shall make my way toward it!"

Just as I was about to complete picking the lock of the jewelry store I felt a sharp pain on my left ankle. I looked down and there it was... the ugliest goblin to have walk this part of Varisia gnawing at my ankle. Without a thought I drew my sword and made quick work of this ugly creation and cut it in half. After examining the small flesh wound I noticed two fellow Shoanti rangers (by their prominent tattoos) battling another group of goblins. They seem in need of my sword so I bravely charged into the fray. "Oh well... I guess those precious stones will have to wait!"

With two quick strokes of my sword I managed to down two more. The other two fellows took care of business as well and bumped chest afterwards. A weird queer celebratory gesture if I say so myself but to each their own. Nevertheless, after the customary intros (their names; Shin and Bock) we decided to celebrate our first victory of many to come over a pitcher or two of the local ale.

Not a bad first day at Sandpoint. I shall continue this story tomorrow only if I find myself sober in the morning. Right now is time to down a couple of mugs with my new found friends and hit on the women folk. Cheers!
